106/365: A horrific scene greeted me today as I returned home from lectures. A dead body of a male was found lying motionless, face-down in a drain along the main road outside my neighbourhood. Cops, ambulance and bystanders filled the scene as I tried to foster up courage to take a few shots with the place swarming with police.

The police officer shown here was trying to take a shot of the scene. The corpse isn’t shown in the photo for obvious reasons but you could roughly make out it its location by where the officer is facing. At writing time, it isn’t known how the man died.

My condolences goes out to the family of the deceased.

Wait, what? My girlfriend’s house is just..right there. Man, I’ve to ask her about this. O.O

Seriously? You really should then! She couldn’t have missed this – it caused a commotion in the area throughout the afternoon!

wow…what a day for u! Did you have nightmares last night?

  3. Latrina says:

Wow. That’s scary! I hear about things like this all the time on the news.. but it’s never near, let alone, IN my neighborhood. Have you found any thing out about the victim? Geez… this is terrible!

    • ember says:

You bet it was scary. =(

Today’s papers reported that it was a 62-year-old man who fell when he was trying to pluck coconuts off a tree (see those orange ones hanging off the tree in the photo – right next to the cop). He had a few children working overseas who sadly, won’t be able to see their father again.

      • Latrina says:

Oh no. I assumed right away it was a murder or something terrible. But THAT’S just sad.. death from an accident, geesh.

I feel so terrible for his children! That’s so awful. =(

My heart goes out to the family and friends of the victim. I’ve never been to an actual scene of death, let alone seeing a dead body, but I did went to places just to pay my respects to the dead. No, not the cemetery I mean. Earlier in Feb/March this year, a person in my school committed suicide… or so the police and school says. I never believed in their statements – many students knew there are things that we were not told as a student of the university. It’s more complicated than that. One evening, I’ve decided to return to the place where he plunged to his death, sincerely praying for him. For some weird reason, for the entire night I couldn’t sleep – I felt that there was something (or is it him?) in the bedroom. It was a spooky experience, but I felt compelled to do at least a prayer for him, being a late university-mate whom I’ve never met.

Was it the one who plummeted to his death after stabbing his professor? That story is very tragic indeed. I’m confused though, what else could’ve happened if it wasn’t a suicide?

Your experience is spooky! I’d freak out if anything like that would happen to me. =(
