Now that you mentioned it, I've never tried doing them using my kit lens hmm. Actually its not as hard as you think, Teddy. In fact, I had a hard time choosing which shot to make the cut because all of them had such beautiful splatters! =) You just need a blazing fast shutter speed, some fair share of luck, and.. something to cover your camera from all the stray water spray!
